'Mommy, What's This Called?' -- Adorable Picture Book Shows Kids How to Name Parts of Their Bodies

ROCKVILLE, Md., Oct. 17, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Every child is curious about the world around them. From toddlers who, to the dismay of every parent, put all kinds of small objects in their mouths to the older children who incessantly ask "Are we there yet?," youngsters want to know. This curiosity, properly channeled and disciplined, will be essential if they are to thrive when they later go to school.

Give your little tykes a head start from their fellow preschoolers with Jeannette Gray's charming picture book Oh! I Love My Body. Beautifully illustrated, this is a wonderful and colorful book where young children will learn to identify the parts of their body through picture, song, and repetition. It shows happy outdoor scenes -- including cute animals -- where kids talk about and name various parts of their bodies. Featuring a cast of multi-racial characters, both boys and girls, kids from both genders and various racial backgrounds will easily relate to the storyline. So as a plus, the book not only teaches the names of the body parts, but also imparts a lesson of racial tolerance.

Upbeat and positive, the book promotes a healthy attitude towards one's body. In this age where bulimia and anorexia unfortunately have affected many teenagers and adults, a child who says "I love my body!" is every parent's dream. So, if your youngster starts to ask you what's the name of his bellybutton, the perfect book to add to your child's library is just a mouse-click away with Oh! I Love My Body, now available at www.xlibris.com.
