An African Quest of Hope, Courage, and Triumph -- Author George Weaves a Rich Literary Tapestry of the Land of Beginnings

BRAMPTON, Ontario, Oct. 17, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Basusu Mensua was just like any normal boy who played games, until late one evening, just before a spectacular sunset, his life would change forever. Follow him in a fascinating journey where he must keep his hope and fuel his courage to triumph over the odds in Basusu, an intriguing novel written by George S. Peart.

It started out as just another simple day in the year 1841 in this small West African village at the foothills of a mountain summit. Women were preparing dinner for their hard working husbands who had spent the day hunting for small game in a nearby wooded area and fishing for trout in a small lake that bordered the village. Basusu was playing games with other boys when without warning, he noticed several strangers approaching the village with strange tools in their hands. Normally Basusu would not be alarmed except that they were white skinned. It was on that evening that his life would change so drastically as he becomes one of several slaves captured during a slave-catch.

Basusu is a compelling tale that celebrates the power of hope, faith, and a strong desire. The author masterfully weaves a lustrous tapestry that lures the readers on to go on a journey with him as he artfully sketches the moving panorama and vividly describes the terrain of the land of beginnings. Basusu represents the hope and aspiration of all those who strive for a better future despite chains of every kind. Wherever the wind of fate has chosen to take Basusu, he must cultivate the seed of a new future, create his own family -- forge a new destiny with the hand history has dealt him.
