Micronic introduces the Prexision series, pattern generators with improved image quality for next generations display manufacturing Täby, Sweden - October 17, 2007 - Micronic Laser Systems AB (OMX Nordic Exchange Stockholm, Nordic list, Mid Cap, Information Technology: MICR), a leading global supplier of laser pattern generators for photomasks, today introduces Prexision-8 and Prexision-10, two new pattern generators for display applications. Micronic Prexision-10 targets production of the large photomasks required for next generation LCD manufacturing, the so-called Generation 10 (G10). These photomasks will enable cost effective production of displays and TV's up to 60” in size and larger. Micronic Prexision-8 targets production of high quality photomasks through Generation 8. Both products are based on a new advanced technology platform that builds on Micronic's success with the current LRS series. Prexision substantially improves the precision and quality of LCD photomasks, and at the same time increases productivity and reliability compared to current pattern generators. The CD control has been improved by up to 30 per cent and pattern registration is 50 per cent better than previous systems at the same time as the writing speed has been increased. With superior technology and a close cooperation with its customers, Micronic is today the World leader in pattern generators for the display industry. Prexision is a result of this continuing collaboration and the system meets our customers' requirements for higher yield and increasingly complex photomasks. “We are proud to contribute to the evolution of the display industry towards new generations with the launch of Prexision” said Sven Löfquist, President and CEO of Micronic Laser Systems AB. “Micronic Prexision enables production of photomasks for G10 as well as providing higher quality photomasks at a higher productivity.” Company contact: Sven Löfquist President and CEO Tel: +46 8 638 52 00 sven.lofquist@micronic.se About Micronic Laser Systems AB Micronic Laser Systems is a Swedish high-tech company engaged in the development, manufacture and marketing of a series of extremely accurate laser pattern generators for the production of photomasks.
