Burkhalter Kessler Goodman & George LLP Announces Counterfeit Costco Paintings May be Seized

Law Firm Urges Victims to Come Forward

IRVINE, Calif., Oct. 22, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Burkhalter Kessler Goodman & George LLP (BKGG), the law firm representing internationally renowned painter Cao Yong, today announced that alleged counterfeit Cao Yong paintings sold by Costco Wholesale, Inc. may be subject to immediate seizure. Yong's lawsuit against Costco is set to go to trial on December 11, 2007.

More than a year after being accused of selling counterfeit paintings, Costco still has not notified all of the unsuspecting buyers that they may have purchased illegal knockoffs. Costco has yet to conduct a proper investigation into the authenticity of the paintings in question. "We urge anyone who purchased a Cao Yong painting from Costco to contact us," said Eric Goodman, Partner at BKGG. If Costco doesn't recall the counterfeit paintings, the court may order the paintings to be seized in accordance with federal copyright law.

Cao Yong is celebrated in both the United States and internationally for his unique contributions to both the art world and to the community. In his art, Cao Yong has captured not only the beauty of France, Italy, Hawaii and other picturesque locales, but also the true spirit of America in his limited edition works of "Freedom" and "We the People," both of which were dedicated to United States heroes -- the pioneers, the founders and those who continue to promote peace and liberty.
