LOS ANGELES, Oct. 23, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Delta Air Lines' (NYSE:DAL) customers worldwide will enjoy new connections to two of Hawaii's major islands as the airline adds nonstop flights between its Los Angeles gateway and Lihue on the island of Kauai and Kona on the "Big Island" of Hawaii, effective June 5, 2008. With the additional flights, Los Angeles will continue to serve as Delta's largest gateway to Hawaii with five daily round-trip flights from southern California to four of Hawaii's major destinations.

Flights will be available for sale to customers today at delta.com and via other ticketing channels, based on the following flight schedules:

To celebrate the addition of these new routes, Delta is offering a one-way special fare of $299* from Los Angeles to Kona and $299* between Los Angeles and Lihue (both are based on a round-trip purchase) for travel through Aug. 5, 2008. In addition to flights between Hawaii and Los Angeles, Delta also offers customers nonstop service to Hawaii from Atlanta and Salt Lake City. With next summer's schedule, Delta plans to offer customers a total of nine daily round-trip flights between its mainland gateways and the Hawaiian islands.
Flights will be operated with a mix of Boeing 757-200, 767-300 and 767-400 aircraft seating between 178 and 277 passengers. All Delta flights between the mainland and Hawaii feature First Class and Economy Class service.
