 WHAT:     The Houston Association of Black Journalists and Rice
           University are sponsoring an open forum on the mass
           media's coverage of the African American community.
           High-profile incidents involving African Americans,
           including Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick, the
           Jena 6 and former Texas Southern University President
           Priscilla Slade have been the focal points of
           international and local mass media coverage in recent
           months. How has it played out? Has the coverage been fair
           and balanced? What are your thoughts? A distinguished
           panel of attorneys, media representatives and civic
           leaders will discuss these and other issues at this
           HABJ-Rice University sponsored forum.
