National Award-Winning 26th Annual Dickens Christmas Show and Festivals Set for November 8 - 11

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C., Oct. 26, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- On November 8-11, the Myrtle Beach Convention Center will host the 26th Annual Dickens Christmas Show and Festivals. The Dickens Christmas Show and Festivals once again ushers in holiday spirit to the Myrtle Beach area. In honor of the show's 26th Anniversary, fresh and innovative ideas have been added to the mix -- complete with stilt walkers, jugglers, street urchins and a Victorian Gingerbread House Competition -- making this a celebration you don't want to miss!

Inspired by Dickens' immortal book, A Christmas Carol, the Dickens Christmas Show and Festivals is an authentic re-creation of a 19th century London marketplace with all the color, warmth, and merriment of Christmas during the time of Charles Dickens. More than 25,000+ attendees from all over the U.S. and Canada stir through the aisles of 350 period-clad vendors hawking everything from fine arts and crafts to imported gifts, toys and much, much more! The Show creates a magical environment where shoppers can find original, quality items to satisfy even the most difficult on their holiday shopping list!

The show's floor is bedecked with London Row houses, strolling minstrels, Christmas decor and thousands of unique gifts! This festival produces a complete and entertaining 19th century holiday experience that can be enjoyed by young and old alike. Enticing aromas of festive foods, sounds of carolers and holiday merrymakers accompany the stroll of all who attend.

In keeping with the spirit of Dickens, many charities participate in the show, adding their own blend of magic to the overall appeal. All funds generated from these events go in full to designated charities. These include: Festival of Trees (all proceeds benefit Citizens Against Spouse Abuse); Festival of Wreaths (all proceeds benefit The Kiwanis Club - Children's Charities); Festival of Holiday Tables (all proceeds benefit the Waccamaw Animal Rescue Mission); The Festival of Worlds (all proceeds to sponsoring organizations). These Festivals provide everything from large displays of elaborate trees, centerpieces and wreaths to displays of International holiday traditions and festival foods.

All ages are invited to help kick off the Holiday Season in style -- Victorian Style. Admission is $7.50 for adults, $3.50 for children ages 2-12 and children under 2 are FREE! Multi-day passes can be purchased for only $10. For more information on this year's event, please call Leisure Time Unlimited at (843) 448-9483, or visit our website at www.dickenschristmasshow.com.
