Squitieri & Fearon, LLP Announces Certificates Classes of Ticket Buyers to Clear Channel Rock Concerts in Antitrust Action

NEW YORK, Oct. 26, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Squitieri & Fearon, LLP, Co-Lead Counsel for Plaintiffs, announced that Judge Stephen V. Wilson in the United States District Court for the Central District of California in Los Angeles has issued a 136-page opinion certifying a class of ticket buyers to Clear Channel rock concerts and denying Clear Channel's motion for judgment on the pleadings. Plaintiffs allege that Clear Channel monopolized the market for tickets to rock concerts and therefore caused those ticket buyers to pay more for their tickets to Clear Channel's rock concerts.

The Court's order certifies classes of ticket buyers in Los Angeles, Chicago, Boston, New York and Denver. These five regional markets were used as "template" markets during the class certification stage. Plaintiffs have filed cases against Clear Channel in 23 different regional markets, all of which have been consolidated before Judge Wilson in Los Angeles. The Court's order denying Defendants' motion for judgment on the pleadings refused to dismiss Plaintiffs' attempted monopolization claim at this state of the case.
