Northrop Grumman Wins Navy Power Systems Engineering and Technical Services Contract


VIRGINIA BEACH, Va., Oct. 30, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) was awarded a contract by the U.S. Navy for power systems engineering and technical services work. AMSEC LLC, a subsidiary of Northrop Grumman's Newport News sector and full-service provider of engineering, logistics and technical support services, is the prime contractor for the work.

The cost-plus-fixed-fee contract, valued at $3.5 million, includes four option years. Work includes the development and modification of existing permanent and test installations of electrical power systems aboard various Navy ships in support of the electrical power systems branch of the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division, Philadelphia.

"This contract is an important win for AMSEC LLC and further solidifies our position as a leader in naval engineering and technical support services, including alterations installations support, carrier engineering assist teams, underway material assist teams, and combat readiness assessments," said Christopher Fiori, division manager in the maintenance, modernization and technical services operation for AMSEC. Work will commence in October 2007 and be performed in various locations, including but not limited to Norfolk, Va., San Diego, Mayport, Fla., and Bremerton and Everett, Wash. If all options are exercised, the work is expected to be completed by April 9, 2012.
