Radio Communications Division:
Grayling CEO Jeff Love said, "When we last reported on our Radio Communications Division at the end of September, I stated that we expect new operational and sales initiatives to deliver an excellent growth profile and profitability for the Radio Communications Division for Fiscal 2008. We are very pleased with our progress just one month into the new year.
"Perhaps the most important development is that we are on the verge of very significantly expanding our distribution coverage into areas where our Radio Communications products are not presently represented. We reported earlier that this would be a primary objective for us this year and it is very encouraging to have made such great strides in a relatively short period of time. We will continue to build our distribution network, ensuring that we have representation throughout North America, as soon as possible."
ClearCalm continues under evaluation by numerous customers in "live" conditions in both the U.S. and Canada. We have indication from a number of these sites that purchase commitments will be forthcoming upon receipt of budget approvals. Most significant of these, in terms of reference customers, is a large Southern California fire department (hazmat).
Most recently, our organization was approached by an SCBA manufacturer with a view to developing a relationship whereby our Radio Division would provide them with communications solutions; our joint discussions continue.
In addition, we have essentially completed the transfer of ClearCalm manufacturing to our Stone Mountain facility in Virginia. Stone Mountain is on track for their initial "build" of ClearCalm units in early November. As stated previously, the combining of these two operations provides significant cost savings and increased efficiencies of operation. Utilizing one distribution network for all of Radio Communication Division products will dramatically increase sales coverage.
