IT - GENIUM FIX for OMX Nordic Exchange – October 2007 Implementation update (65/07)

Here is an update on the time plan and implementation of GENIUM FIX for OMX Nordic Exchange:

On November 12, 2007 OMX will introduce a low latency market data service for equities and related instruments based on GENIUM FIX for OMX Nordic Exchange. The interface will be based on the previously published FIX and FAST specifications (versions 1.0.5 and 1.0.2 respectively).

In the next step, GENIUM FIX for OMX Nordic Exchange will be made available for broad member testing and then introduced as a trading interface to the current equity, warrants and fixed income trading environment (SAXESS). The current interfaces (XTP) will remain in use during a transition period. Member testing is planned to start in Q2, 2008, in conjunction with the SAXESS 5.1 release testing. The production launch of SAXESS 5.1 with FIX support is planned in Q4 2008.

After member consultations it has been decided not to introduce GENIUM FIX for derivatives trading in the current environment (CLICK). FIX for derivatives trading will instead be introduced when the Nordic Exchange migrates derivatives trading to a GENIUM based solution.

Today OMX also publishes a new draft version of GENIUM FIX for OMX Nordic Exchange – FIX Specification, version 2.0 (see attachment). The new version of the FAST specification will be available in Q1 2008.
