Marvin's Glorious Discovery -- Marvin Learns That He is a Magnificent Nubian Goat

TALLAHASSEE, Fla., Nov. 2, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Searching for one's identity and place in this world is a natural yearning for every person, perhaps even for animals. All creatures great and small need to feel a sense of family and belonging. This is the story of Marvin, who lived on Moore Farm, as he tries to find out who he is -- a peacock, a horse, or a kitten? Be charmed as you join him on his journey of self-discovery in author Carol Hair Moore's 'Marvin The Magnificent Nubian Goat.'

Marvin came to live on Moore Farm when he was five days old. Since there were no other goats on the farm, he did not know what he was. At first, he thought he was part of the Moore family, but since he had more than two legs, he knew he wasn't a human. To find his identity he compares himself to the other farm animals to see if he is one of them. He's not a peacock because he can't catch bugs; he's not a horse since he can't neigh; nor a kitten because he can't get through small cracks. Can he be a chicken, cow, or frog? Accompany Marvin as he searches for his identity in this colorful and artistic children's picture book, 'Marvin The Magnificent Nubian Goat.'

About the Author

Carol was born in Live Oak, a small North Florida town halfway between Tallahassee and Jacksonville. Her ancestors arrived in the Live Oak area by covered wagon in the 1850s. Much of Carol's early life was spent in a rural environment during which she developed her love of animals, especially farm animals. She received her B.S. Degree in Elementary Education from Florida State University and taught second grade in Gainesville, Florida while her husband, Ed, obtained his law degree. Ed and Carol raised their three children on the Moore Farm just outside of Tallahassee. While the farm contained many animals -- including cows, horses, chickens, peacocks, turkeys, cats, dogs and ducks -- the family favorite was Marvin the pet goat. Marvin lived to be twelve years old and was an integral part of the Moore Farm. Ed and Carol's seven grandchildren love to visit Nana and "Dadaddy" at their home in Tallahassee and their coast home at St. Teresa on the Gulf of Mexico.
