Sectra strengthens its product offering to the US orthopedic trauma market

The IT and medical-technology company Sectra has signed an agreement with the
US-based orthopedic implant manufacturer Synthes. Through this agreement Sectra
adds trauma templates to its orthopedic product offering in the US.

Today, Sectra's orthopedic solution includes approximately a total of 33,000
digital templates from nearly 20 different orthopedic implant manufacturers
among these DePuy, Zimmer and Stryker. With Synthes' 1,600 trauma templates
Sectra will expand its orthopedic offering to include an extensive selection of
templates for the US trauma market.

Sectra OrthoStation, with its fully integrated orthopedic planning package,
includes advanced image processing capabilities and a comprehensive set of
guides for pre-operative planning of hip and knee surgery. A comprehensive
anatomy reposition tool brings functionality to plan and template complex trauma
cases with ease.

“This agreement with Synthes enables us to extend our product offering within
orthopedics to also meet the needs of trauma centers and emergency care
hospitals, an important part of the US orthopedic market, says Brian Anderson,
vice president of marketing at Sectra North America. “Trauma surgeons can
leverage Sectra's Orthopedic solution to pre-operatively plan for surgery by
accessing a suite of automated tools and digital templates, increasing the
accuracy and speed of the pre-operative planning process,” he added.

Sectra's contractual relationships with leading orthopedic vendors ensure that
the Sectra digital template library is continually upgraded with new and revised
templates.
