Telvent to Manage the National Automatic Violation Report Processing Center

 * The General Direction of Traffic will invest 22 million euros
   to set up the center

 * New center will improve services for citizens and expedite
   violations reports

MADRID, Nov. 5, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Telvent GIT S.A. (Nasdaq:TLVT), together with Indra and Atos Origin, was awarded today the contract to deploy the management and operation center called the National Automatic Violation Report Processing Center, or ESTRADA, on behalf of the General Direction of Traffic. During the first two years of operations, the contract will generate revenues of approximately 20 million euros.

The project's goal is to enhance and optimize current services offered to citizens by providing a quick and efficient response system that meets their traffic violation needs. The center will manage traffic violation reports nationwide and issue the corresponding fines.

The three companies will be working jointly to create this center to provide the technological infrastructure and systems needed for the automatic management of violations and services offered to both citizens and the Administration.

The center will provide citizens personal telephone service and a website, under the General Direction of Traffic site, to facilitate them with information regarding traffic violations. Citizens will benefit from a faster service and better way to manage their violations and the Administration will provide a faster response time.

In addition, the participating companies will support the General Direction of Traffic by processing violation reports. The center expects to manage about three and a half million violation cases during the first eighteen months in operation, and will eventually be capable of processing up to four million cases per year. As a result, the issuance of fines and corresponding sanctions will be faster.

According to Telvent's Transportation president, Jose Montoya, "We are very pleased to be supporting the General Direction of Traffic to attain its goal of improving its service to citizens, as well as reducing the number of traffic accidents caused by speeding, contributing to the change of attitude by drivers and their behavior behind the wheel."

Eduardo Bonet, Indra's Traffic general manager, stated: "This is an important milestone for Indra, to participate in this particular project that is key for the General Direction of Traffic, one of Indra's main clients in the traffic sector. The ESTRADA project requires not only the knowledge and expertise of the technology offered by the awarded companies, but also management and control of the processes, human resources and services assistance."

Diego Pavia General Manager of Atos Origin states, "We are pleased to collaborate with the Spanish DGT in this project. The use of state-of-the-art technology will improve our relationship with citizens, reducing the processing and notification time, expedite the processes and ensure the confidentiality of the clients' data. ESTRADA will increase the safety of our roads."

The center will be located in Leon, where the three awarded companies already have offices and are collaborating in the development of the IT and Security Cluster, driven by Inteco.

This project adds to Telvent's focus on transportation safety management. The company's traffic management solution technologies will be once again implemented in Spain, further strengthening the relationship with the General Direction of Traffic. Telvent is currently developing similar projects internationally, such as the United States, Argentina, Thailand and Panama, to name a few.
