Salcomp Plc Release 5 November 2007 at 11:15 Finnish time SALCOMP INTRODUCES A NEW USB CHARGER Salcomp has introduced to the market a new charger product platform that enables charging mobile phones and other mobile devices with a USB cable. Built in accordance with the new Cosmo product platform, the charger has no fixed cable; instead, it has a USB connector - such as in computers - and a separate cable compatible with this connector can be found, for example, in the mobile phone sales package. The new Cosmo product platform has been granted approval for the Chinese market, where all sold new mobile phones must support a USB charger such as Cosmo instead of proprietary systems. Approvals for other country versions are pending to be granted in the near future. Cosmo is one of Salcomp's four charger solutions based on the company's own platforms. All of these platforms are specified and developed by Salcomp. They feature technologically flexible, safety-approved chargers that can be sold as such or further tailored to the customer's specific needs. They are cost-efficient and enable quick entry to market. The USB standard-based Cosmo chargers open Salcomp new opportunities to expand its customer base beyond the mobile phone charger segment.
