Targus Strengthens Management Team

The Company Brings On Experienced Executives as Part of Its Initiative to Deliver Leading Edge Solutions


ANAHEIM, Calif., Nov. 7, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Targus(r) Inc., maker of the world's top-selling laptop computer cases and accessories, today announced that it has enhanced its management team with the addition of three new senior level executives. The new executives were brought on board as part of the company's strategy to strengthen its product development engine.

Kevin Gallagher joins the company as the Vice President of Design. Kevin brings over 20 years of experience in fashion accessories, case goods and consumer electronics design. Kevin will lead a creative team in all design functions tied to accessory and soft goods products and will play a major role in shaping the company's design language in the future.

Most recently, Gallagher was the Director of Design at Case Logic in Colorado, where he was responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the company's design process. Prior to Case Logic, Gallagher founded a design consulting firm and worked with such well known brand names as Donna Karan, Coach Leather, IBM, Bison Motorcycles, Port, Mark Cross, Bergdorf Goodman and Steelcase amongst others. Prior to that, he worked for the Rhode Island School of Design as an Instructor in Milan and then as the Graduate Program Director for the Department of Industrial Design. Gallagher received his Bachelor's degree from the State University of New York at New Paltz in Jewelry and Metals and a Masters of Fine Arts in Design from the Cranbrook Academy of Art.

In addition to Mr. Gallagher, Targus recently brought on Mike Kroll as the Director of Product Management in the Accessories Division and Bui Cuong as the Director of Product Management in Targus' Soft Goods Division. Together they bring over 40 years of combined product management experience to Targus.

In his new position, Kroll will lead the Accessories Product Development team and will be responsible for delivering new products for current and new market segments. Kroll brings more than 25 years of experience in the high-tech industry. Prior to joining Targus, he held executive positions at Logitech and Acer. Mike holds his bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from U.C. Berkeley and MBA from Santa Clara University.

As the Director of Product Management for Cut & Sew, Bui Cuong will oversee and manage the development of all of Targus' soft goods line including notebook cases. Prior to Targus, Mr. Cuong was the Senior Director of Product Development of Jakks Pacific where he played an integral role in the company increasing sales from $160 million to $880 million in seven years. Prior to Jakks, Cuong held leadership roles in progressive engineering and product development roles for various multinational U.S. based companies. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design from the California State University Northridge.
