FINNAIR ASIAN TRAFFIC GREW BY OVER 40 PERCENT, LOAD FACTORS ON HIGH


Finnair scheduled traffic increased by 34.3% compared to October last year.     
Asian traffic grew by 41.3% and passenger load factor was 7.5% higher than last 
year, on 81.6%. Passenger load factor in scheduled passenger traffic was 74.8%, 
up 5.1 percentage points. Number of passengers carried was 608 331, up 21.6%.   
Comparison figures from October 2006 were up to certain extent affected by a    
cabin personnel's two-day strike.                                               

Finnair total traffic, measured in passenger kilometers, increased by 26.2% in  
October, while the capacity was up by 19.9%, resulting in a passenger load      
factor of 76.5% or 3.8 points higher than last year. All Finnair Group airlines 
altogether transported 717 762 passengers, which is 17.9% more than a year ago. 

Finnair's Tallinn-based subsidiary Aero AS, carried 25 120 passengers (- 51.5%) 
on routes between Helsinki and the Baltic capitals and within Southern Finland. 
Aero figures are respectively included in Finnair Group total figures. At the   
end of June, Finnair sold its Stockholm-based subsidiary airline FlyNordic and  
its traffic performance is no longer reported as part of Finnair Group          
statistics. For better comparison, equivalent figures for last year have been   
adjusted accordingly.                                                           

Arrival punctuality of scheduled flights was 84.1% (based on a fifteen minute   
standard), on the same level as in October 2006. Including leisure flights      
arrival punctuality was 82.4% (0.5 p.p).                                        


Scheduled traffic                                                               
In scheduled traffic (international + domestic) revenue passenger kilometres    
increased by 34.3%. The change in capacity was 25.2%. Passenger load factor was 
74.8%, 5.1 percentage points higher than last year.                             

In scheduled international traffic, total number of passengers was up by 31.1%. 
Capacity in ASKs was 28.0%, while RPKs increased by 36.3%.                      

In European scheduled traffic, ASKs increased by 35.2%, and as RPKs increased by
36.7%, the passenger load factor was 67.0%, up 0.7 points from previous year.   

In North Atlantic scheduled traffic, capacity decreased by 11.2%. Change in RPKs
was +3.0%, and passenger load factor for October was 91.7%, 12.7 points higher  
than previous year.                                                             

In Asian scheduled traffic, capacity increase was 28.3%. The passenger traffic  
was up by 41.3%. Passenger load factor was 81.6%, 7.5 percentage points up. 

Domestic scheduled traffic increased by 4.3% on a capacity decrease of 4.7%.    
Passenger load factor increased by 4.9 percentage points to 56.7%.              


Leisure traffic                                                                 
ASKs for leisure traffic increased in October by 2.1%, and RPKs increased by    
3.0%, resulting in a passenger load factor of 83.2%, 0.7 points higher than
last year. 


Cargo                                                                           
Cargo traffic increased by 13.1% in terms of cargo tonnes carried. Growth in    
scheduled traffic was 24.6%. Increase in Asian traffic was 37.9%. Volume in     
European traffic increased by 13.9%. In North-Atlantic traffic cargo volume     
decreased by 7.8%. Cargo traffic carried on chartered cargo flights decreased by
64.6%. The cargo load factor was 67.9%. The cargo load factor in the Far Eastern
traffic was 77.7% and in the North Atlantic traffic 83.3%.
