HiQ signs three-year framework agreement with leading global vehicle
manufacturer

HiQ and a global vehicle manufacturer have signed a three-year framework
agreement. HiQ has been designated as a partner, which means that HiQ can
deliver both total solutions and consulting support on a project basis. The
framework agreement covers consulting services in the areas of hardware and
software development, system development, simulation, testing, and project
management.

“We are very proud of this vote of confidence, and the new framework agreement.
This is a key strategic client for us. The agreement will strengthen our
position in the automotive sector, and provide us with the right conditions for
continued growth and recruitment,” says Lars Stugemo, CEO HiQ International.

HiQ's strength in combining knowledge from the telecoms industry with simulation
technology and advanced software development has been a success factor in HiQ's
expansion in the automotive industry. There is a clear trend toward electronics
and software becoming more and more important, and accounting for a substantial
part of the development costs for today's vehicles.

“HiQ has long been well known as an Infotainment provider. In recent years, we
have gradually strengthened our position in Active Safety. We see how these
areas overlap, creating many exciting challenges where HiQ has a lot to offer,“
continues Lars Stugemo.

About Infotainment
Infotainment consists of information and entertainment that is made available in
the vehicle. In addition to communications with the outside world
(telematics/telephony), the term also covers audio and video systems,
entertainment for children, navigation, etc.

About Active Safety
Active Safety is a term that encompasses technologies and systems developed to
prevent and avoid vehicle traffic accidents. Using intelligent systems, the
vehicle tries to avoid accidents altogether, or to minimise the damage if an
accident is unavoidable.
Examples of technology currently on the market include night-vision cameras,
cameras that help the driver monitor his “blind spot”, radar that detects
obstacles ahead, and advanced anti-skid systems.
