NEW YORK, Nov. 15, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- PricewaterhouseCoopers announced today that Brenda Russell has joined the firm as a director within the firm's Advisory practice. In this role she will provide strategy, business development, technology implementation, risk and regulatory, and intellectual property expertise to legal entities.
Directly prior to joining PwC, Ms. Russell was the Director of the Illinois Department of Employment Security, the first attorney to hold this position. Under her leadership, the department began statewide filing of claims on the Internet, direct deposit of benefit checks, and issued the first bonds to restore the unemployment insurance trust fund to solvency. Previously, Ms. Russell was Vice President of Community Relations in the Office of the Chairman with CSX, after serving as a Senior Corporate Counsel. Prior to that, she was an attorney specializing in corporate transactions and real estate law with two law firms in Chicago.

She is a member of the Economic Club of Chicago, Black Women Lawyer's Association, Cook County Bar, Chicago Bar Association, National Bar Association and American Bar Association.
Ms. Russell Is a graduate of Harvard University, with a B.A. degree in Economics, and a graduate of the University of the Virginia School of Law, where she earned her J.D. degree. Brenda is a native of Huntsville, Alabama and resides in Chicago.
