PÖYRY AWARDED EUR 14 MILLION RAILWAY ENGINEERING ASSIGNMENT IN ROMANIA

Pöyry has been awarded an engineering contract by the national
railway company of Romania, CFR S.A., comprising design for the
rehabilitation of the railway line Hungarian border - Curtici -
Simeria (Pan-European Corridor IV). Pöyry's share of the contract is
EUR 14 million.

The PAN-European Corridor IV crosses Romania from west to east from
the Hungarian border through Simeria to Constanta. The objective of
rehabilitation of the 184 km long section is to enable passenger
traffic on trains capable of 160 km/h speed and to ensure technical
interoperability conditions with the neighbouring systems. The total
investment for this project will be about EUR 600 million. Pöyry's
services include feasibility studies, optimisation, detail design,
and technical assistance until project completion.

The assignment is Pöyry's first railway project in Romania and an
important milestone in the consolidation of the company's position in
the strongly growing transportation markets of Eastern Europe.

Pöyry is a global consulting and engineering firm focusing on the
energy, forest industry and infrastructure & environment sectors.
Pöyry's net sales in 2006 amounted to about EUR 620 million and it
