Scania chooses Alfdex for Euro 5 engines

Scania chooses Alfdex for Euro 5 engines

Scania has again chosen the Alfdex system for the cleaning of crankcase gases,
this time in its new 9 and 13 litre engines. These engines are Euro 5 compliant
and Scania has chosen an Alfdex alternative in which the degree of cleaning is
even higher than before. The order covers all Euro 5 engines and deliveries
begin towards the end of the year.

As well as diesel, Scania's brand new Euro 5 engines can run on all renewable
fuels. In line with Scania's environmental commitment, a further developed
version of the Alfdex system has been specified, making crankcase gases almost
100% free of oil and soot. The new Alfdex variant has been developed jointly by
Alfdex AB and Scania.

“This order, the second from Scania, confirms and expands on the cooperation we
began back in 2002”, says Mats Ekeroth, MD of Alfdex AB. “Alfdex has already
been supplying for Scania's Euro 4 engines for some time.”

“In total, we now have acknowledged orders worth around SEK 1 billion over the
coming 3 to 5 years. This means that we have established Alfdex as one of the
world's leading suppliers of proprietary crankcase gas cleaning solutions.”

Alfdex AB is a joint venture based on Haldex' strong position as a supplier of
proprietary and innovative solutions for the global vehicle industry and Alfa
Laval's leading position in centrifugal separation.
