Los Angeles Capital Management Announces Staff Additions


LOS ANGELES, Nov. 16, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Tom Stevens, Chairman of Los Angeles Capital Management announced today two new additions to the firm, Edwin Ek and Charles Morris. "We are pleased to announce the addition of two seasoned professionals joining our ranks. Los Angeles Capital continues to grow at a steady pace and bringing in quality people is crucial at this point. Their experience and knowledge of the money management business helps to expand the firm's ability to meet client objectives." Los Angeles Capital is a quantitative equity shop offering a broad range of applications to the institutional investment marketplace. Currently the firm has $5.6 Billion in assets under management.

Ek joined in September as Director of Portfolio Management and will have primary responsibility for the portfolio management activities of the company and manage all individuals with account responsibility. Mr. Ek joins after 14 years with Boston-based Rhumbline Advisers where he served as Chief Investment Officer. "I look forward to moving to the active management side of the industry and helping L. A. Capital to continue to develop new applications to meet the demand of its clients and prospects," said Ek. "Ed brings his considerable organizational and investment experience to the firm and is a welcome addition to the senior management team," Stevens said.

Charles Morris, CFA will be joining in November as a Managing Director overseeing business development. His responsibility will be to expand client relationships in the Eastern and Southeastern portions of the U.S. Chuck will also be charged with developing new business in Scandinavia, the United Kingdom, and other European markets. "My experience working in the quantitative side of the business melds nicely with my new role at L. A. Capital. I look forward to helping the firm continue to expand its product offerings both in the U.S. and Europe," said Morris. Mr. Morris spent the last 8 years at Citigroup where he worked on the Quantitative Research team. Mr. Morris replaces Patrick Mulvey who left to assume a position with Rogerscasey.
