Renown Pastor Dr. Stephan K. Munsey Lends His Support to Non-Denominational Telethon On Behalf of New Orleans

Munsey Hosts ReNew Orleans Telethon Supporting Victims of Hurricane Katrina Because It's 'The Right Thing to Do'

MANHATTAN BEACH, Calif., Nov. 16, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- ReNew Orleans, a national campaign designed to establish the first new community center in post-Katrina New Orleans, will launch a national telethon on November 17th hosted by well-known pastor, author, and television personality Dr. Stephan K. Munsey. Munsey, pastor of the world-famous Family Christian Center in Munsey, Indiana, is lending his support to the non-denominational campaign to help ReNew Orleans realize its worthy goal of rebuilding the New Orleans community that was devastated by Hurricane Katrina. All donations received throughout the telethon will go directly to the construction of the center.

The telethon, which will air on eight LeSea television stations nationwide from November 17 - 21 (see listings below), will be hosted by Dr. Stephan K. Munsey, a well-known pastor, author, and television personality. Segments within the telethon will include glimpses into the lives of those who survived Hurricane Katrina and the struggles they face as their hometown is slowly being rebuilt. The telethon will also feature an interview with Academy Award Winner Louis Gossett, Jr. and Damon Harman of ReNew Orleans.

"Each and every one of us, regardless of denomination, has a responsibility to help the residents of New Orleans who have been victimized by this unprecedented tragedy," said Dr. Stephan K. Munsey. "I am honored to assist ReNew Orleans in this worthy cause."

"As New Orleans continues to rebuild its infrastructure, it is essential to rebuild its communities as well," said Harman. "With the ReNew Orleans project, we have given concerned citizens from all walks of life an opportunity to not only help rebuild the city, but to also help rebuild the community. We are honored and grateful for the wide-ranging support this campaign has already received and we are excited to work with LeSea and Stephan Munsey to increase our awareness even further."

ReNew Orleans was created by Harman, CEO and Founder of DNA Creative Media. Harman saw the need to spread national awareness regarding the importance of rebuilding and rejuvenating New Orleans after the devastation of Hurricane Katrina; thus ReNew Orleans was created. DNA has also produced a branded television documentary special hosted by Louis Gossett, Jr., which will be syndicated on network TV beginning in December. The television documentary special, directed by Jon Nixon of Point of View Films, will cover the different construction stages of the community center, plus highlight the people of New Orleans.

Harman founded DNA Creative Media, Inc. in 2006 as a full service advertising/marketing agency with a niche specialization in branded programming. DNA is promoting a new type of branded entertainment, with full sponsorship involvement. Sponsors of ReNew Orleans have the opportunity for hands on involvement in certain stages of construction -- plus, each sponsor is interviewed for the documentary. This gives them the opportunity to express their corporate philanthropic philosophy and social responsibility as well as highlight their product that may be utilized within the community center. Using this new model, Harman hopes to produce multiple episodes of ReNew Orleans. "We hope to improve New Orleans block by block" Harman said.
