Northrop Grumman Showcases Training and Simulation Technologies At I/ITSEC 2007

ORLANDO, Fla., Nov. 26, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) will highlight a full range of training and simulation products and services for military and homeland security operations at the 2007 Interservice/Industry Training, Simulation and Education Conference.

The conference will take place Nov. 26-29 at the Orange County Convention Center. Northrop Grumman will be located at booth 1724.

The company's exhibit will feature flight training and homeland security solutions for the U.S. Department of Defense and various government agencies.

The Engineering Flight Fixture for Evaluation of Coordinated Tactics training system for the E-2D Advanced Hawkeye addresses order of magnitude changes in aircraft and systems operation, and harnesses innovative training technologies to assure cost-wise readiness. The demonstration consists of a commercial-off-the-shelf-based system that allows automated evaluation of pilot performance and pilot/sensor-operator coordination to accomplish aircraft intercept missions.

Flexible and easy-to-use, the Graduate Training Integration Management System (GTIMS) manages every aspect of a flight training program, from schedules, grade books and flight records to status updates and comprehensive reports. Northrop Grumman designed GTIMS to integrate flight and simulator training as well as computer-aided and classroom instruction; to schedule and manage all resources required for training; and to provide real-time situational awareness of training at all management levels.

Northrop Grumman's role on the Combat Air Force Distributed Mission Operations (CAF DMO) program includes systems management, interoperability and training federation management to help modernize training for the U.S. Air Force. In this role, the company provides a complete distributed interoperable Live Virtual Constructive global training solution for CAF DMO training systems. This solution is achieved through the implementation of Northrop Grumman's global CAF DMO network and systems interface solution, the development of interoperability standards, and the implementation of processes and procedures to govern this daily training capability. The company will demonstrate the on-demand training capability that facilitates nearly 1,000 missions each year and more than 6,800 training hours for warfighters and mission crews.

The company's Generic Reconfigurable Training System (GRTS) replaces one-of-a-kind training systems with a versatile, reconfigurable software architecture that is seamlessly integrated into military classrooms. GRTS contains virtual replicas of tactical equipment and their effects, displays and system functions.

The Emergency Preparedness Federation is a suite of training simulation, control, interface and visualization tools that offer comprehensive solutions to help planners, strategists, emergency responders and post-disaster recovery teams prepare for and handle emergency situations. It is executed with the TouchTable(tm), allowing collaborative control and enhancing after-action review.

Northrop Grumman's Enhanced Learning Solutions team specializes in the design and development of training and educational products for military clients worldwide, including traditional classroom instruction, distributed learning and game-based training applications.

The company's Simulation Technology for Emergency Management tool supports training exercises and analytical studies of natural and man-made incidents. Simulating the response of local, state and federal resources, the system includes U.S. Department of Homeland Security National Response Plan responsibilities, transportation and evacuation methods, and medical system interaction. It supports real and simulated rehearsals, and enables rapid plan evaluation.
