International Liquor and Wine Distribution Business Modernizes With NetManage's OnWeb

The Diego Zamora Group Transforms Its AS/400 User Environment Into An Intuitive, Integrated and Graphics-Based Interface

MADRID, Spain, Dec. 10, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- NetManage, Inc. (Nasdaq:NETM), a software company that provides the fastest way to transform legacy applications into new Web-based business solutions, today announced that the Diego Zamora Group, an established global beverage distribution company, has chosen NetManage's OnWeb(r) to simplify and modernize the company's commercial liquor and wine distribution system for its international product line. Diego Zamora will use OnWeb to transform its commercial application area and continue to modernize ERP (AS/400) applications for its purchase, finance and production systems, as well as create mobile applications for the company's commercial force.

In an effort to create a familiar and more intuitive environment for its commercial users, Diego Zamora sought a solution that would quickly and efficiently integrate its current applications by transforming them into Web services. The company was fully invested in its existing ERP system, but needed a way to reduce the time and cost of new user training. With NetManage's OnWeb, the initial pilot project for the commercial application took only 15 development days to complete. During that development time, Diego Zamora was also able to carry out a careful analysis of all current application screens in order to establish an overall strategy for future development plans.

"After reviewing the other solutions currently available on the market, we chose NetManage because OnWeb offered us one consolidated tool that permits us to transform our current applications easily, quickly and without the costly need to change or carry out additional development with our ERP system," explains Jose A. Medina Gray, director of organization and systems. "With the OnWeb product, we can open our applications to a more heterogeneous environment, such as our commercial force, where many users need to utilize the business data processing tools. After a month of testing OnWeb, we were impressed by the speed with which screens could be transformed, without the need to change practically anything in our current environment. We are very pleased with our overall experience with NetManage."

Since using OnWeb, Diego Zamora has been able to transform the screens of its legacy AS/400 applications into an easy-to-use graphical environment. The resulting system requires little training and provides a better experience to new users. Diego Zamora already has plans in place to use OnWeb to create new mobile applications for its commercial force on devices such as BlackBerrys, PDAs and Tablet PCs that will interact directly with its ERP system without the use of third-party applications.

"NetManage enables businesses to leverage their legacy assets and will continue to serve its diverse customer base with flexible and robust enterprise information solutions that answer business-critical needs," said Zvi Alon, chairman, president and CEO at NetManage, Inc. "Now more than ever, companies like Diego Zamora are turning to NetManage for technology that securely and cost-effectively improves employee and customer access to vital information."

OnWeb offers a comprehensive development and deployment platform that enables businesses to create new business services by leveraging existing enterprise information systems (host/legacy applications, ERPs, CRMs, SCMs and databases) in a non-invasive manner with unprecedented flexibility and deployment speed. OnWeb transforms host applications into Web applications, builds composite applications that involve multiple enterprise information systems (EISs), and creates reusable components that can be used as building blocks in other applications.
