Lennart Evrell appointed CEO of Boliden AB

The Board of Directors of Boliden AB has appointed Lennart Evrell as the new
President and CEO of Boliden AB effective 1st January 2008.

“Lennart has broad industrial experience from his positions as President and CEO
of Sapa and Munters. The Board of Directors regards him as the right person to
fully take advantage of Boliden's possibilities and continue to strengthen the
company's competitiveness”, says Anders Ullberg, Chairman of the Board in
Boliden AB.

happy to be entrusted with this position and I will continue to develop the
operations. Boliden's well-known competence within the metal chain -
exploration, mines, smelters and recycling - gives us the best conditions”, says
Lennart.

Lennart Evrell is 53 years old. He holds a M Sc degree in Civil Engineering and
Economics and comes to Boliden from the aluminum company Sapa. He has previously
also worked for ASEA, Atlas Copco and Sphinx Gustavsberg and Munters. 

Svante Nilsson will continue as Acting CEO for Boliden until 1st January 2008.
