Notification of a change in ownership interest under Chapter 2,
Section 10 of the Finnish Securities Market Act

Under Chapter 2, Section 9 of the Finnish Securities Market Act,
Kesko Corporation has been notified by Barclays Plc and Barclays
Global Investor UK Limited that the ownership interest of Barclays
Plc in Kesko Corporation has fallen below 5% of the total number
of shares on 11 December 2007, whilst Barclays Global Investor UK
Limited holds over 5% of the total number of Kesko Corporation
shares.

Barclays Plc (registered as a public limited company in England
and Wales under No. 48839) has notified Kesko that it has on 5
October 2007 notified the Finnish Financial Supervision Authority
(the “FFSA”) that it applies the disaggregation exemption set out
in the Decree of the Ministry of Finance on the Disclosure and
Publication of Shareholdings to disaggregate holdings of its EEA
subsidiary fund management companies. Under the exemption as
applied by Barclays Plc, Barclays Plc reports its holdings
separately from the holdings of its EEA subsidiary, Barclays
Global Investor UK Holding Limited (registered as a limited
company in England and Wales under No. 03867180) and its five
subsidiary fund management companies, Barclays Global Investors
Limited, Woolwich Unit Trust Managers Limited, Barclays Global
Investors (Deutschland) AG, Barclays Global Investors N.A. and
Barclays Global Fund Advisors, whose holdings will be aggregated
with those of their interim parent company, Barclays Global
Investor UK Holdings Limited.

According to its notification, Barclays Plc also has on 5 October
2007 applied for permission from the FFSA to disaggregate its
holdings and the holdings of the non-EEA licensed subsidiary fund
management companies (Barclays Global Investors N.A and Barclays
Global Fund Advisors) of the parent company Barclays Global
Investors UK Holdings Limited. The FFSA has granted such
permission on 11 December 2007.

Due to the application by Barclays Plc of the above disaggregation
exemption and permission from the FFSA, according to notification
of Barclays Plc, (i) Barclays Plc's holding in Kesko Oyj (the
“Company”), by applying the relevant aggregation rules, has fallen
below 5 % of the total number of shares (ii) whilst its
subsidiary's, Barclays Global Investor UK Holdings Limited's,
holding in the Company, by applying the relevant aggregation
rules, remains above 5% of the total number of shares.

By applying the above disaggregation and taking into account that
the below mentioned Barclays Global Investors Limited owns also
itself (and not only as a fund manager) shares in the Company, the
exact holdings of Barclays Plc and Barclays Global Investor UK
Holdings Limited are, according to their notification, as set out
below.
