- Björgólfur resigns as CEO of Icelandic Group


Björgólfur Jóhannsson, CEO of Icelandic Group plc., has resigned his position. 
Björgólfur has been the CEO of the organisation since March 2006.  The Board of
Icelandic Group has negotiated Björgólfur´s resignation and he will formally
leave his position in the middle of January.  The Board of Icelandic Group
would like to extend its thanks to Björgólfur for his hard work and wish him
well in his new carreer. 


Björgólfur Jóhannsson CEO of Icelandic Group:
"In the past few semesters we have been working on the reorganisation of the
company in difficult surroundings.  We are now seeing the results in phases of
that project.  In the midst of these circumstances I received a very
interesting offer on a new position, which I have decided to accept.  This
decision has been taken in full cooperation with the company´s Board.  I would
like to use this opportunity to thank all the good people I have worked with
within Icelandic Group for jobs well done and good acquaintances."
