KASOLA OYJ Tapani Väljä Managing Director 0400-505 078 tapanivalja.kasola@kaso.fi DISTRIBUTION Helsinki Stock Exchange Major media www.kasola.fi THE BUSINESS OPERATIONS OF NURMINEN LOGISTICS, WHICH WILL BE TRANSFERRED TO KASOLA OYJ, EXPANDS ITS FLEET OF RAILWAY WAGONS BY 100 WAGONS On 10 December 2007, Kasola Oyj (the “Company”) published a listing particular, which is related to the implementation of the overall arrangement (“Arrangement”) set forth in the main agreement entered into on 7 September 2007 between John Nurminen Oy (“John Nurminen”) and the principle owners of the Company and, in part, the Company. In the Arrangement, the Company is, inter alia, the receiving company in John Nurminen's overall demerger, so that John Nurminen Oy's logistics business will be transferred to the Company (“Nurminen Logistics Business”), and John Nurminen's shareholders will be issued 9,999,989 new class A shares in the Company as demerger consideration (the “Transaction”). Upon realization of the Transaction, on or about 1 January 2008, the Company's name will be changed to Nurminen Logistics Oyj. In connection with the publication of the listing particular, the business strategy relating to the Nurminen Logistics Business was also published. In accordance with this strategy, John Nurminen has continued railway wagon investments and ordered 100 covered railway wagons from a Russian wagon manufacturer. The wagons will be delivered in stages to the Company, estimated by the end of March 2008. The investment in wagons is amounting approximately EUR 6.5 million. After the investment, the Nurminen Logistics Business's number of wagons will exceed 950 wagons. In connection with the implementation of the overall arrangement, estimated to take place on 1 January 2008, Kasola Oyj shares are due to become Nurminen Logistics Oyj shares listed on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
