NDA confirms plan to sign agreement in early 2008

The Nuclear Decommissioning Authority, NDA, has confirmed its
intention to sign an agreement in early 2008 with the UK Nuclear
Waste Management consortium, concerning the management of the UK Low
Level Waste Repository. Studsvik has a 15 per cent share in UK
Nuclear Waste Management.
Studsvik issued a press release on August 15, 2007 stating that the
company is participating in a consortium that had been selected
preferred bidder for the management of the UK Low Level Waste
Repository in West Cumbria, England. The contract also comprises the
development of a UK-wide low-level-waste strategy.

The initial time plan was aiming at concluding negotiations in
October 2007. In its third quarter report released on October 29,
Studsvik revised the time plan and said it expected signing shortly.

Due to the scope and complexity of the negotiations, and formal
aspects not previously known, the time of signing has been pushed
forward more than expected in October.

However, the NDA has published an official message
(http://www.nda.gov.uk/news/pbo-sellafield-final-tender.cfm) stating
that the contract is nearing completion being in the final stages of
negotiation, and anticipated to conclude early 2008.
