Christopher & Banks Corporation Reports Fiscal December Sales Results


MINNEAPOLIS, Jan 03, 2008 -- Christopher & Banks Corporation (NYSE:CBK) today reported fiscal December sales results.

For the four-week period ended December 29, 2007, total sales were $61.8 million compared to $60.0 million for the four-week period ended December 23, 2006. December same-store sales for the four weeks ended December 29, 2007 are compared to the four-week period ended December 30, 2006. On this basis, same-store sales for the four-week period ended December 29, 2007 declined one percent. Total sales for the ten fiscal months ended December 29, 2007 were $512.3 million compared to $473.3 million for the ten fiscal months ended December 23, 2006. Same-store sales for the forty-three fiscal weeks ended December 29, 2007 increased two percent when compared to the corresponding forty-three week period ended December 30, 2006. As of December 29, 2007, the Company operated 841 stores compared to 779 stores as of December 23, 2006.

Lorna Nagler, President and Chief Executive Officer, commented, "December same-store sales results were in line with the guidance we provided in our December 27, 2007 third quarter earnings press release. We are very pleased that December merchandise margins showed significant improvement compared to last year despite the challenging retail environment."
