Entropic and D-Link Partner to Provide Industry's First Home Networking MoCA 1.0 Compliant Bridge for Consumers

D-Link DXN-220 Utilizes Entropic's Technology to Create a Whole Home Entertainment Network

SAN DIEGO, Jan. 8, 2008 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Entropic Communications, Inc. (Nasdaq:ENTR), a leading provider of systems solutions to enable connected home entertainment, in conjunction with D-Link, the end to end networking solutions provider for consumer and business, today announced the D-Link(r) DXN-220, the industry's first home networking MoCA compliant bridge designed specifically for consumers, on-line gamers and digital home entertainment enthusiasts.

The Next Level of Connected Home Entertainment

The D-Link MoCA MediaBridge DXN-220 sets a new standard for connected home entertainment by allowing the consumer to seamlessly link entertainment devices from room to room using existing coax wiring. The Ethernet-to-coax bridge reliably accesses and distributes digital video content, including multiple streams of high-definition (HD) video and audio without compromise.

"We are pleased to partner with D-Link to bring MoCA-enabled products to market for end users," stated John Graham, Vice President of Marketing at Entropic. "The DXN-220, with Entropic's EN2210 chip set, makes it easy for consumers to set up a whole home entertainment network themselves. Now, online gaming enthusiasts can comfortably play from the living room without having to string Ethernet cable across the house. And, consumers can now easily stream video and audio from a PC to a television in another room. The DXN-220 provides connectivity, flexibility, and convenience."

Home Entertainment Networking Made Easy

D-Link's DXN-220 incorporates Entropic's EN2210 c.LINK chip set which enables a complete coaxial networking solution for the distribution of multiple streams of HD video, digital, voice, broadband data and other digital content. Since the DXN-220 leverages the coax wiring already installed in consumers' homes, it enables a fast, secure and robust network without the need for new wiring, modifications or professional installation.

"We are happy to bring the first MoCA-enabled products to market for consumers and pleased to work with Entropic Communications to deliver the functionality of the D-Link DXN-220," commented A.J. Wang, Chief Technology Officer at D-Link. "Together we are redefining the convenience and functionality of home entertainment networks by introducing a complimentary technology to our popular Wi-Fi solutions to further enable seamless multimedia sharing throughout the entire digital home."

Availability

The D-Link DXN-220 which incorporates Entropic's c.LINK home networking technology will be available from select D-Link retail outlets and is expected to be available through D-Link's network of value-added resellers, distributors and www.dlinkshop.com in late Q1 of 2008.
