City National Bank Posts 5th Consecutive Record Year for Philanthropic Outreach in Nevada for 2007

LAS VEGAS, Jan. 8, 2008 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- City National Bank today announced that it enjoyed its fifth consecutive record year for philanthropic outreach in Nevada during 2007. The bank also donated to a record number of nonprofit and community organizations last year, which were more than 70 qualified organizations. The bank's monetary and in-kind support, such as computers and office furniture, totaled over $100,000. Volunteer outreach also reached record levels with bank colleagues donating more than 1,700 hours last year. This is a 33 percent increase over the previous year's monetary and in-kind donations and a 13 percent increase in volunteer services.

"We continue to be very proud of our philanthropic performance and our increased capabilities each year to help more people and communities become better places to live and work," said John Guedry, executive vice president and Nevada region manager of City National Bank. "We view our involvement in the communities we serve as an extension of our bank, and if the community succeeds, we too will be successful."

Guedry, who serves on the boards of Opportunity Village and Women's Development Center, added that while the bank is very pleased with what it achieved last year with its monetary and in-kind donations, the bank is perhaps most pleased with the human resources it was able to provide to nonprofit and community organizations throughout Nevada. "Providing over 1,700 hours of volunteer services to these organizations was no small feat, especially for a company our size."
