In December the Stockmann Group's sales were up 52 per cent and amounted to EUR 263 million. Stockmann got the control of the Swedish AB Lindex (publ) on December 5, 2007, and Lindex sales figures are included in the Group's figures from the following day. The best percentage increase in sales was reported by Hobby Hall whose sales were up 34 per cent. The division's sales were up 32 per cent in Finland and 48 per cent abroad. The sales increase is adjustment from earlier months due to the change in recording the sales brought by the introduction of the ERP system in spring and from new Christmas Campaign. Only a small part of sales from the new market in Russia was recorded in December. Sales by the Department Store Division were up 10 per cent. Sales were up 5 per cent in Finland and 24 per cent abroad. Sales abroad increased well in all market areas. In Russia the growth in sales was backed up by the new department store that was opened in Moscow in February and the expansion of the Bestseller chain. Sales by Seppälä were up 9 per cent. In Finland the sales were down one per cent and 44 per cent up abroad. Good sales abroad was contributed by the good growth in like-for-like sales in all market areas and expansion of the network of stores especially in Russia. Stockmann Group's sales for the whole year 2007 were EUR 1 670 million, up 13 per cent including Lindex sales from December 6, 2007. 70 per cent of sales came from Finland and 30 per cent from abroad. Sales by Seppälä increased by 11 per cent. Sales in Finland were on a par with the previous year and sales abroad 49 per cent up. Sales by Department Store Division were up 9 per cent, 5 per cent in Finland and 21 per cent abroad. Sales by Hobby Hall increased by 3 per cent. In Finland sales were up one per cent and 16 per cent up abroad. The final sales figures will be published on February 7, 2008, together with the financial report for the full year 2007. Lindex sales will be published in the monthly sales reports of year 2008 without comparison figures, because Lindex was not a part of the Stockmann Group most of the year 2007.
