MCLEAN, Va., Jan. 10, 2008 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) has named George Haynes vice president and chief information officer for the company's Technical Services sector.

In this position, Haynes is responsible for establishing the information technology strategic direction and leadership of all information systems and information technology activities for the Technical Services sector and its business areas.

Haynes has held a variety of leadership positions in his 22 years at Northrop Grumman. Prior to this role, Haynes served as director of operations for Northrop Grumman's Electronic Systems sector.

He earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from Towson State University, Towson, Md., and a master's degree in management information systems from the University of Maryland, College Park, Md.
