Release of a Voting Rights announcement

1. Merrill Lynch International, London, U.K., have informed us on January
2, 2008, in accordance with section 21 sub-section 1 and section 23 WpHG
(German Securities Trading Act) that its share in the voting rights of
WaveLight AG, Erlangen, Germany, has exceeded the 3% and 5 % threshold on
December 21, 2007 and amounts to 5,02 % (Amount of Shares: 330,180; Shares
outstanding: 6,577,026).

2. ML UK Capital Holdings, London, U.K., have informed us on January 2,
2008, in accordance with section 21 (1) WpHG (German Securities Trading
Act) that its share in the voting rights of WaveLight AG, Erlangen,
Germany, has exceeded the 3% and 5 % threshold on December 21, 2007 and
amounts to 5,02 % (Amount of Shares: 330,180; Shares outstanding:
6,577,026).

All of these voting rights, amounting to 5,02% corresponding to 330,180
voting rights were attributed to ML UK Capital Holdings in accordance with
section 22 sub-section 1 sentence 1 no. 1 WpHG. The chain of controlled
undertakings through which the voting rights are held is:  Merrill Lynch
International, which is controlled by ML UK Capital Holdings.

3.  Merrill Lynch Holdings Limited, London, U.K., have informed us on
January 2, 2008, in accordance with section 21 (1) WpHG (German Securities
Trading Act) that its share in the voting rights of WaveLight AG, Erlangen,
Germany, has exceeded the 3% and 5 % threshold on December 21, 2007 and
amounts to 5,02 % (Amount of Shares: 330,180; Shares outstanding:
6,577,026).

All of these voting rights, amounting to 5,02% corresponding to 330,180
voting rights were attributed to Merrill Lynch Holdings Limited in
accordance with section 22 sub-section 1 sentence 1 no. 1 WpHG. The chain
of controlled undertakings through which the voting rights are held is:
Merrill Lynch International, which is controlled by ML Uk Capital Holdings,
which is controlled by Merrill Lynch Holdings Limited.

4.  Merrill Lynch Europe Intermediate Holdings, London, U.K., have informed
us on January 2, 2008, in accordance with section 21 (1) WpHG (German
Securities Trading Act) that its share in the voting rights of WaveLight
AG, Erlangen, Germany, has exceeded the 3 % and 5 % threshold on December
21, 2007 and amounts to 5,02 % (Amount of Shares: 330,180; Shares
outstanding: 6,577,026).

All of these voting rights, amounting to 5,02% corresponding to 330,180
voting rights were attributed to Merrill Lynch Europe Intermediate Holdings
in accordance with section 22 sub-section 1 sentence 1 no. 1 WpHG. The
chain of controlled undertakings through which the voting rights are held
is: Merrill Lynch International, which is controlled by ML Uk Capital
Holdings, which is controlled by Merrill Lynch Holdings Limited, which is
controlled by Merill Lynch Europe Intermediate Holdings.

Act) that its share in the voting rights of WaveLight AG, Erlangen,
Germany, has exceeded the 3% and 5 % threshold on December 21, 2007 and
amounts to 5,02 % (Amount of Shares: 330,180; Shares outstanding:
6,577,026).

voting rights were attributed to Merrill Lynch Europe PLC in accordance

December 21, 2007 and amounts to 5,02 % (Amount of Shares: 330,180; Shares
outstanding: 6,577,026).

All of these voting rights, amounting to 5,02% corresponding to 330,180
voting rights were attributed to Merrill Lynch International Holdings Inc.
in accordance with section 22 sub-section 1 sentence 1 no. 1 WpHG. The
chain of controlled undertakings through which the voting rights are held
is: Merrill Lynch International, which is controlled by ML Uk Capital
