Photo Release -- Northrop Grumman Appoints John J. Buckley, Jr. Vice President of Engineering and Manufacturing in Electronic Systems


ROLLING MEADOWS, Ill., Jan. 21, 2008 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) has named John J. Buckley, Jr. vice president of Engineering and Manufacturing for the Central Region of the company's Electronic Systems sector, effective immediately.

In his new position, Buckley will have executive responsibility for all engineering and manufacturing processes, program execution support and people-related development initiatives across all the company's Central Region locations. He will directly support the business activities of the Defensive Systems, Aerospace Systems and Land Forces Divisions located at the Rolling Meadows, Ill., campus. He will also support operations at other Electronic Systems sector campuses in Amherst, N.Y.; Apopka, Fla.; Garland, Tex.; and Tempe, Ariz.

Buckley joined the company in 1984 and has risen through a series of leadership positions in engineering and program management. In 1998, he was named manager of Mechanical Design and Data Configuration. In 2002, he became deputy program manager for the Agile Beam Radar program and subsequently program director for the Internal FLIR Targeting System (IFTS). Since 2006, he has served as director of Hardware Engineering.

Buckley earned a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Maryland and a master's degree in systems engineering from Johns Hopkins University. He will be based at the Rolling Meadows facility.
