Lysaker, 23 January 2008 Nord Pool has received the following information from the Norwegian Water Resources and Energy Directorate (NVE): Fall in power prices The prices at the Nordic power exchange fell from week 2 to 3, as a result of warmer weather and lower power consumption. In Norway, temperatures were 2 to 5 degrees below normal. In the middle and north of Norway, the average spot price was 35 øre/kWh, that is 2 øre lower than the week before. The average spot price in southern Norway was 36 øre/kWh. Prices in the financial market went down as well. This comes as a consequence of decreasing world market prices of oil, gas and coal, in addition to lower emission prices.
