NORWALK, Conn., Jan. 22, 2008 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- FactSet Research Systems Inc. (NYSE:FDS), a leading provider of integrated financial information and analytical applications to the global investment community, today announced that it has been named one of FORTUNE magazine's "100 Best Companies to Work For." FactSet ranked #20 on the Best Small Companies list (those with 1,000-2,500 employees) and #52 in the overall 100. The full list and related stories appear in the February 4 issue of FORTUNE and today on its website at www.fortune.com.

The latest rankings mark FactSet's first appearance on the list and the first year the company has participated. Around 1,500 companies are recruited or ask to participate; to be eligible, they must be at least seven years old and have 1,000 or more employees.

"Being named to FORTUNE's '100 Best Companies to Work For' is a testament to the company's commitment to create an exceptional environment for our employees to thrive and grow," said FactSet CEO Philip A. Hadley. "Since two-thirds of the score is based on an employee survey, we are grateful to FactSetters for awarding us this distinction."

FORTUNE's recognition is the latest acknowledgement of FactSet's outstanding work environment. In 2007, FactSet was named one of Forbes's "200 Best Small Companies" for the eleventh consecutive year.
