Marygrove College Appoints William L. Johnson as VP Finance and Administration


DETROIT, Jan. 30, 2008 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Marygrove College President David Fike, Ph.D., announces the appointment of William L. Johnson as vice president for Finance and Administration, effective January 1, 2008. Johnson serves as the College's chief financial officer. He had been a member of the Marygrove Board of Trustees since 2006.

Johnson comes to Marygrove from DTE Energy where had most recently been director of Strategic Development. His other positions included director and controller for Detroit Edison from January through September 2007 and director and controller for DTE Energy subsidiary Michigan Consolidated Gas Company from April 2005 to December 2006. Prior to joining DTE, he spent a year as vice president for Business & Finance at the University of Detroit Mercy. His professional experience also includes Focus: Hope as chief financial officer; ANR Pipeline Company as senior vice president, financial administration; and Great Lakes Gas Transmission Company as controller.

Johnson holds a BA in accounting from Michigan State University and a Master of Science in Finance from Walsh College. He is a former certified public accountant with the State of Michigan.

In addition to his service as a member of the Marygrove Board of Trustees, he is a member of the board and treasurer of Lighthouse Emergency Service and a member of the Education Technology Committee of the Archdiocese of Detroit.
