WaveLight AG: Alcon Laboratories, Inc. takes over the sales, service and
support functions for WaveLight’s refractive product range in the USA

Erlangen, February 04, 2008. With immediate effect, Alcon Laboratories,
Inc. assumes all the commercial activities on the US medical technology
market which have previously been the responsibility of the WaveLight,
Inc., the US-subsidiary of the Erlangen based medical technology company
WaveLight AG (company address: Am Wolfsmantel 5, 91058 Erlangen; ISIN:
DE0005125603).

As well as sales, service and support functions, marketing of the leading
technology 'made in Germany' laser and diagnostic systems for ophthalmology
will thus be assured by the closely meshed and effective distribution
network of Alcon in the USA.

Following the successful conclusion of the public take-over bid by Alcon,
Inc., WaveLight AG is announcing today the restructuring of its
organisation in the US-market.

This agreement between WaveLight and Alcon includes a guaranteed volume of
laser systems over a period of three years. As part of the agreement,
WaveLight will continue to generate sales for the already installed
equipment base of WaveLight laser systems in the USA from the 'Per
Procedure Fee' usual there. In the framework of the 'Per Procedure Fee',
the treating ophthalmologists paid a fixed amount to the manufacturer of
the laser system for each defective vision correction on the eye.
