05/02/2008 Press release 5.2.2008 M-real has reached a major milestone with the production of the two millionth tonne of its Kemiart coated white top kraftliner. The achievement was celebrated with M-real's customers on 23rd January at the Kemiart Liners Mill in Finland. Kraftliner production started at Kemi in 1971. In 1990 the company upgraded its processing and invested in a coating unit, with production of coated white top kraftliner starting the same year. Today there are three different coated grades in the product range, and corrugated converters and printers worldwide know Kemiart liners for their quality and consistency. M-real's basis for development of its coated grades has from the beginning been the needs of its customers, of end-users, and in listening to feedback from both. Innovation has led to the current product family which includes a suitable coated liner for each printing method, enabling the corrugated industry to meet brand owners' and retailers' demands for higher quality packaging regardless of their chosen print technology.
