Pöyry has been awarded an engineering contract by Propapier GmbH for its PM2 project at a new site in Eisenhüttenstadt, Germany. The project is subject to final permit approval. The value of the contract is about EUR 10 million. The new paper machine will produce about 650 000 t/a of testliner/fluting paper grades and is scheduled to start production in 2009. The assignment covers procurement, engineering, erection supervision, commissioning and start-up services for implementation of the paper mill project. The latest technology will be applied in the process solutions of PM2 targeting at high quality grades taking into account stringent environmental aspects. The long-standing previous cooperation with Propapier's project management forms a good basis for implementing a successful project. This assignment is also a continuation to several recent implementation projects, such as Saica PM10 and Schwarza PM1, performed by Pöyry in the packaging paper area.
