Larox has been awarded four contracts to supply filters to mining and metallurgical companies in Japan, Russia, Chile and Democratic Republic of Congo. Total value of the orders for different types of solid-liquid separation, filtration equipment and ancillaries is approximately 13.5 million euros. Deliveries will take place during the second half of this year and early 2009. The delivery to Japan consists of eight containers with five individually operating filtration packages including altogether six units of different types of filters and ancillary equipment. Filtration units will be part of a complete metallurgical pilot plant. JSC Gaiskij GOK, Cu- and Zn- concentrator in Russia and part of the second biggest copper producer in Russia, the Ural Mining and Metallurgy Company UMMC) has placed an order for two units of large size Larox PF vertical pressure filters for copper concentrate filtration. The order from Chile is for two units of large size Larox PF vertical pressure filters also for copper concentrate filtration. Two units of large size Larox PF vertical pressure filters will be delivered to the Democratic Republic of Congo for tailings re-treatment facility to produce copper cathode and cobalt hydroxide. This is complementary to the order received during the third quarter of 2007, which comprised four units Pannevis horizontal vacuum belt filters. Value of the largest order is approximately EUR 4.0 million. The other reported orders have a value in the range of EUR 2.5 to 3.5 million each. Two of the orders with a combined value of approximately EUR 6.0 million were booked for the year end 2007 order backlog, the rest to the order backlog of year 2008. Received orders indicate the continuing strong activity for filtration investments. They are driven especially by the high demand for metals which is expected to continue strong.
