Wall Street Journal Digital Network Names New Executive for Digital Strategy and Operations


NEW YORK, Feb. 6, 2008 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Matt Goldberg has been named senior vice president of digital strategy and operations for The Wall Street Journal Digital Network, effective immediately. He will report to Gordon McLeod, president of The Wall Street Journal Digital Network.

In this role, Mr. Goldberg assumes operational responsibilities across the network, including general management, strategy and business development, finance, research and analytics, licensing, mobile, video and podcasting initiatives.

In 2006 Mr. Goldberg became vice president of franchise development and partnerships for the Dow Jones Consumer Media Group, where he was responsible for developing and managing business partnerships, including television, radio, WSJ Office Network, Sunday Journal, content licensing and other initiatives in adjacent markets and emerging media formats.

Mr. Goldberg joined Dow Jones in New York in 2003 as director of market strategies for The Wall Street Journal and was later named executive director of Dow Jones Integrated Solutions, a group he launched in 2004 and led through 2006.

Prior to joining Dow Jones, Mr. Goldberg held several positions at Bertelsmann in New York, rising to senior director, U.S. business development. He previously served as director of strategic planning for the Illinois Housing Development Authority in Chicago; campaign officer for the Liberty Party of Australia; and assistant to the Governor of Illinois.

Mr. Goldberg received a bachelor's degree in English from Cornell University, a master's degree in International Relations from The University of Melbourne and an M.B.A. from Stanford University.
