Europlasma's Developments in Traditional Business: Plasma Torch Exported to Korea

BORDEAUX, France, Feb. 11, 2008 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Europlasma (Paris:MLEUP) has today announced an order for a plasma torch system to equip the water treatment plant sludge incinerator in the town of Yongin, 40 km south of Seoul. This order follows the agreement signed last July with the Korean company Kolon regarding a license for ash vitrification know-how.

This vitrification unit, designed to handle twelve tons of ash per day, will be fitted with a 1.2 MW plasma torch. Europlasma engineers are training and supporting Kolon's teams to ensure the unit begins operating as planned in 2009. Through this first deal, Kolon reiterates its confidence in Europlasma six months after signing their partnership agreement.

The environmental policies implemented in Korea offer bright development prospects for Europlasma, a company known throughout the world for its waste vitrification technology.

In France, the local authority in Bordeaux has pioneered the use of this technology by choosing to vitrify the ash produced by the municipal solid waste incinerator in Cenon and holds the relevant patent jointly with Europlasma. Furthermore, another two important French local authorities have asked Europlasma to study the vitrification feasibility of their ash.
