Seipp Named Chairman of Sysco Food Services of Minnesota, Inc.


HOUSTON, Feb. 14, 2008 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- SYSCO Corporation (NYSE:SYY), North America's largest foodservice marketer and distributor, announced today that Philip J. Seipp, who is currently president and chief executive officer of Sysco Food Services of Minnesota, Inc., has been promoted to chairman of the company until his retirement June 28, 2008. Timothy K. Hogan, who is president and CEO of SYSCO's New Mexico subsidiary, will succeed Mr. Seipp as president and CEO. The promotions are effective March 31, 2008.

Mr. Seipp, 65, has enjoyed a distinguished 27-year career in the foodservice distribution industry, having served in a leadership capacity from 1981 to 1988 at CFS Continental, the foodservice businesses of Staley Continental, prior to becoming associated with SYSCO. When SYSCO acquired CFS Continental in 1988, Mr. Seipp became president and CEO of the Minnesota operation. He and his wife, Kathy, have four adult children and four grandchildren and reside in Burnsville, Minnesota.
