Louisiana Bancorp, Inc. Announces Results of Special Meeting of Shareholders and Stock Purchases to Fund Plan


METAIRIE, La., Feb. 14, 2008 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Louisiana Bancorp, Inc. (the "Company") (Nasdaq:LABC), the holding company for Bank of New Orleans, today announced it had received approval of its proposals to adopt stock benefit plans presented to shareholders at the special meeting held today.

At the special meeting, shareholders approved the adoption of the 2007 Stock Option Plan and the 2007 Recognition and Retention Plan.

In order to fund the 2007 Recognition and Retention Plan, the related trust will purchase 253,829 shares of Louisiana Bancorp's common stock in the open market. Purchases will be made from time to time at the discretion of management.
