NCC receives order from LKAB totaling SEK 1.1 billion

NCC Construction Sweden has received a renewed assignment from LKAB to execute
mining and concreting works at Malmfälten for a total of SEK 1.1 billion, plus
an option on an additional SEK 700 million.

The order pertains to mining, raise drilling and concreting works for the new
main level, the M1250, at Malmberget and the Main Section One for raise drilling
of the new main level, the KUJ1365 in Kiruna. The figures 1250 and 1365
represent the number of meters under the surface calculated from the original
peaks at each location.

“It's very gratifying being able to continue our long-term cooperation with LKAB
and this will secure NCC's production at Malmfälten for several years,” says
Thomas Stenvall, Head of the Heavy Industries department at NCC.

The work will commence immediately and will be completed in phases between 2010
and 2015.

The project is estimated to employ approximately 150 to 200 persons. Part of the
above project involves an extension of the ongoing operations, which is why new
recruitment will be limited to approximately 50 to 80 employees.
