He will primarily be responsible for the Finance, IT and Purchasing Department. Mr. Björkqvist has a long international working experience from food packaging, chemical and telecommunication businesses having worked as Senior Vice President Finance/CFO for Leaf, Polarcup, Eesti Telekom and Dynea North America. Stromsdal is focusing on graphical speciality paperboards and on Tecta™ food packaging paperboards, and in order to strengthen this strategy the company has increased its sales, customer service and product development resources especially to the Tecta™ business. Stromsdal has a two-year product development program in collaboration with VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland aiming at improving further Tecta™ barrier coating properties and making wider use of natural raw materials to achieve good compostability and minimize CO2 footprint. Tecta™ food packaging paperboards can be used to replace all-plastic packaging, composites of board and plastic as well as aluminium. In many packaging solutions it is possible to avoid overpackaging by using Tecta™ food packaging paperboards.
